About this campaign
These ultimate heavyweight sweatshirts, perfect for fall weather, feature a new design by talented graphic artist Greg Shutters (http://gregshutters.com/) commemorating the SS United States.
A 55-day "Grand Pacific Cruise" was planned in 1970 that would have visited ports including New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. Sadly, it was cancelled when the ship was withdrawn from service in 1969. However, we are offering a fabulous sweatshirt commemorating the voyage. We are also offering another cruising opportunity in May 2018. We invite you to support the Conservancy by joining us on a trip aboard the Celebrity Summit to Bermuda.
In service from 1952 through 1969, the luxury ocean liner, the SS United States, set a new speed record for a transatlantic crossing on her maiden voyage – a record that remains unbroken to this day. America's Flagship is an irreplaceable piece of history with enduring global significance as a symbol of the nation's historical accomplishments and technological innovation.

This is more important than the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
My husband and I learned about the SS United States 15 years ago when we went to a restaurant on the Outer Banks of NC. We saw memorabilia from the ship and have been fascinated with her history ever since then.
My good friend, Mil Manning was married to Admiral Manning. I met him and was impressed.
Have been donating for a few years now and want to see this ship honored by everyone involved in maritime industries and boat owners.
I join up when ship was headed "to scrap yard " now there is a chance to save her!
