"Almost seven months ago, one of our dearest brothers, Alexander "Pal" Grant, had tragically passed away at the age of 19. The Boston College community was in disbelief, and we--just a young colony of Sigma Phi Epsilon--were at a loss for words. Alexander Grant was an economics major, a member of the College of Arts & Sciences Honors Program, and gifted musician and philanthropist. Most importantly, he was a friend and our brother.
Founded in memory of Alexander Maxwell Grant, our inaugural AMG Memorial 5K Road Race occurred on Saturday, October 8th at Boston College from 9am to noon. All proceeds will benefit The Alexander Maxwell Grant Foundation, a non-profit established to assist artistically and musically gifted young people from troubled or disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the healing power of music, the Foundation will encourage the efforts of recipients to excel in their lives, and in turn apply their talents and knowledge to improve and enlighten the lives of others.
On behalf of the Boston College Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, I would like to personally thank CustomInk for surpassing our expectations. Although we had submitted our volunteer t-shirt designs the week before, CustomInk delivered them on time and above par. Even more so, we were ecstatic to hear that your company had sought us out to offer a contribution to our cause. Since this was our first attempt at a road race, we greatly appreciated your firm's generosity. We raised over $3,125 with over 80 runners on our 5K track. We couldn't have done it alone, and we are excited to up the ante for next year's event."
