About this campaign

Help us pay the medical bills associated with Zach's Parkinson's Disease. Please purchase a shirt for $20 and show your support to not only help Zach but to raise awareness about Parkinson's and the hope to find a cure!!!

Zach is the 31 year old husband of Michelle and father to Carly (6), Alyssa (3) and Riley (1).

Zach was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease about 9 months ago. Since that time this disease has been very aggressive and has decreased Zach's quality of life. He has tried many medications for the disease and those that don't cause him to get sick or fall asleep randomly cause him dyskinesias (think Michael J. Fox movements). At this time, Zach's doctor has decided that the best way to proceed if for Zach to have Deep Brain Stimulation. This will require Zach to undergo brain surgery to implant the electrode, followed by another surgery to implant the stimulator. Zach will have to stay in the ICU and be inpatient for 3 to 5 days post-surgery. The coming medical treatments will require multiple visits to Augusta. While insurance will cover between 80-90% of some costs, there will be a significant amount of medical bills, gas bills, travel expenses and time off of work without pay.

If you are able to help, we thank you. Any amount would be appreciated. Above all, we ask for your prayer that the procedure's go well and Zach is able to heal and have a better quality of life.

Please visit http://www.grhealth.org/GhsuContentPage.aspx?nd=2395&;id=147 to find out more about Zach's doctor, Dr. Sethi.
At this time we are unsure of how much this procedure will cost so we are starting with the $25,000 goal. We would love to exceed this goal to cover any further medical bills. Any money raised over what is needed to cover the cost of the surgery, gas to get to and from Augusta, other travel expenses and other medical bills (such as medication not covered by insurance) will be put towards the funding of Parkinson's research to search for a cure.
