Joshua Riley, Our Hero

In my 7th period class, I was blessed to become friends with Joshua Riley, a Tomball High School freshman diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy.Even though Josh used a wheelchair to maneuver through the hallways, nothing stood in his way.The thing about Josh is that healways kept a smile on his face no matterthe circumstance.In class, one of the funniest days we shared was when I broke his pencil. I picked up his mechanical pencil after he dropped it on the floor, and somehow I had managed to completely pull it apart. Instead of continuing on with notes, he could do nothing but laugh at me as I tried to quickly fix it.He simplycontinued to laugh at me as the spring flew across the room. Josh was never frustrated, never angered, he had a sincerity to his voicewithwarmthinhis smile.He's an inspiration to us all, he taught me to live every day to it's fullest,even thoughfor him- death was so near.
