Todd was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in October of 2014. He was 44 years old with no family history of colon cancer. He was probably in the best shape of his life, regularly running, biking and working out. He began having some abdominal pain and he noticed some blood in his stool. So off to the doctor he went. A colonoscopy revealed the tumor was located in his descending colon. A PET scan revealed the cancer spreathrougout his peritoneum.

He has been through over 20 rounds of chemotherapy and there is no end in sight. Because of where the disease metasasized, surgry has never been nor will it ever be an option. This will be a lifelong disease for him to battle and so we consider him a forever fighter. There are no ugs tht cure stage IV colon cancer. It is our hope that continued research will find a new drug that can cure this awful disease. We also are hoping the minimum age of 50 for a routine colonscopy be lowered. Stage I and Stage II and usually even Stage II colon cancers can be cured but once the disease has spread the prognosis drastically worsens. In honor of Todd and in onjunction wth Colon Cancer Awareness month in March, we would like to raise money for colon cncer research and awareness. Blue happens to be Todd's favorite color but it is also the color for colon cancer awareness as well.

So order your shirt and plan to wear it as much as possible in the month of March and beyond. If you are over 50, please schedule that dreaded colonoscopy. If you are under 50, ask for it anyway. It is no fun. It is uncomfortable. It is weird and embarrassing even. But right now it is the on thingthat can detect colon cancer.
