Team Katie Bug!

Katie was diagnosed with brain cancer just three weeks shy of her third birthday. We spent the majority of 2014 in the hospital where Katie received high doses of chemotherapy and three stem cell transplants. While in the hoital dring ourfirst moth of chemo,we came veryclose to losng Katie. Itis through Gd and h spiri that we still have her here with us today. She has always kept a smile on her face from day one. She is the toughest person I have ever known and met. She has taken maintenance chemo at home since November of 2014 and currently takes chemo at home twice a day and will continue to do so until March of 2016, when her doctors and oncologist re-evaluate her case.
Due to the high intense chemotherapy Katie received while in the hospital, she has suffered severe hearing loss and now has to have hearing aids as well as speech therapy due to developing a stutter from the chemotherapy treatments.
Katie is currently cancer free but is still at a high risk for relapsing. We have come to far now to give up hope, and we pray that Katie will continue to stay cancer free.
