Having a great birth team makes for a better pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. By providing scholarships to Midwives, Doulas, Birth Assistants and Lactation Consultants, Supporting Sunrise is creating more birth professionals who will help our community excel. We want every recipient to not only succeed, but to also thrive in this profession. With more Black and Brown Birth Workers serving their communities, it is our goal to not only see a decline in the local maternal health mortality rates, but to also see families birth in the ways that are healthy, joyful and sacred to them.
