About this campaign
My name is Dennis Schoen Jr. and I represent, and climb, for Stairwells to Cures. Since 2015, I wanted to find a way to make a difference and stay healthy at the same time. I found that could be accomplished in Fire Department Sport Stairclimbing for Charity. I initiated Stairwells to Cures in an effort to assist the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in their efforts to raise funding for the research leading to cures affecting those dealing with life threatening illnesses. My second reason for initiating Stairwells to Cures is to help motivate other people who do, and could, have a compassion towards those affected.
This year marks the 3rd year I will be climbing the SCOTT Firefighter Stairclimb representing Southwest Texas and New Mexico. On March 13, 2017, 2000 Firefighters from all over the world will don their full gear, and SCBA, and Climb, Conquer, and Cure in the Columbia Center stairwell in Seattle. Each firefighter is tasked with climbing 69 floors which will encompass 1,311 stairs.
100 percent of the proceeds towards the sale of these t-shirts go specifically to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society suggests to each firefighter to solicit donations towards a goal that each individual sets. I established a goal and am credited by these fundraising efforts. These opportunities have greatly impressed upon me the need for continued support of facilities such as the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in an effort to seek the cures needed to help the thousands of people involved which include firefighters. I would encourage firefighters who are not involved to join us in this program. I would also encourage civilians to participate as they do have a separate climb for the non-firefighters.
Please help if you can! .... "Lets Help Make a Difference Together".
