About this campaign

Migraines are a crippling headache that many people have experienced. Chronic migraines suffers experience a migraine or headache 15 or more days out of a month. The U.S. government gives 49 cents per year for every person that has been diagnosed as a migraine suffer. However, over half of migraine suffers are never diagnosed. In 2016 there was 500 headache specialists in the U.S with over 38 million Americans suffering from migraines.

Hi, my name is Anne Keranen. I have suffered from chronic persistent daily migraines for 12 years. I have been to many hospitals, appointments, and tests to try and find out what is causing my headaches. In 2013 I went to Mayo Clinic and was diagnosed with chronic persistent daily migraines. Although a diagnosis had been in our hopes and prayers for many years, the next thing the doctor said was not what we had hoped for; "there is no cure, you will have to live with this". This was hard news for both my family and myself. After hearing this I told my parents I would make sure I do something to raise money for migraine research so hopefully someday someone else will not have to receive the same hard news we had to hear. I hope you all will come run with us as we raise money to make migrianes visible and have a little bit of fun on June 17th 2017!
