ONH /SOD Awareness shirt

Optic Nerve Hypoplasia / Septo Optic Dysplasia; now that’s a mouth full! More commonly known as ONH / SOD. The question I am often asked when mentioning Brody has a disorder is “what’s that” or “is he in pain”. Optic Nerve Hypoplasia is a visual disorder that affects the optic nerve, the bundle of fibers that transmits signals from the retina to the brain. In optic nerve hypoplasia, the nerve has not developed. This may mean that the child may have some vision or may be blind, depending on how much of the optic nerve is intact. Back when Brody was only 2 months old we had received the news. Trust me this was not an easy road with diagnosing and ruling out SOD. From that point on there has always been days where even though I know that every doctor appointment, therapy session and test was to get us where we need to be, but I as the parent have struggled with wishing I could do more. As we progress through this first year and educate ourselves on this disorder with the help of a facebook group as well as the Magic Foundation we now feel a little more at ease. We are not the only ones going through this. I would love to sell as many shirts as possible and wear them proudly in support of Brody and every other little one with ONH / SOD.
