ODDO is an Octopus and he lives at Open Door Rehabilitation Center. His name has a special meaning. O.D.D.O. really stands for "Opening Doors & Developing Opportunities."

ODDO wants to be a happy Octopus (doesn’t everybody?) but in order for ODDO to be happy, he must be a balanced Octopus. In order to balance himself, he must first look at all aspects of his life. He had to ensure that all of his needs and wants in each aspect of his life were being addressed. In order to do this, he decided to get a few tattoos on his 8 tentacles to help him remember all of the important things that will help him become a happy and balanced Octopus. Once he had looked at all of these important areas and decided what was truly important to him and discovered what he needed and wanted he came up with a PLAN. With the plan, he started the adventure of recognizing the obstacles in his way, learning how to overcome those obstacles, and start OPENING DOORS AND DEVELOPING OPPORTUNITIES and Implementing Strategies to make him a balanced and happy Octopus.

My sister Katie Packley has been at the Birch house for almost a year now. It has been a blessing to find a home that she is happy to be in and have opportunities to grow and learn even more. And her family is happy to see she’s doing great!

The Open Door does so many great things in the community and provides opportunities to some that may not get it without the Open Door. I also had an Aunt that benefited from their services, Delores (Dotty) Taylor.
