About this campaign

Money raised from these t-shirts will go to NCAN (Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network)andThe Healing NET Foundation.

NCAN's missionis to intensify awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer including Carcinoid. NCAN provides patients access to information about NETs, and funding for NET cancer research.
NCAN has produced nearly 40 conferences both national and regional around the country. These events have been beneficial for thousands of patients and their families. With these conferences, we keep patients up-to-date on information impacting the decisions made regarding their care, including new diagnostics and treatments available and upcoming. NCAN has been a proud member of The North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society since 2006, providing funding and support.

The Healing NET Foundation

is a non-profit organization (501c-3) formed to raise awareness of, and funding for, the best possible medical care for patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NET). It also supports the education and training of physicians across the United States so they can provide the comprehensive care so essential for NET patients.

Doctors are sometimes taught, "When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras." The term "zebra" has become slang for an unusual medical diagnosis when a common explanation is more likely. Today, carcinoid cancer and neuroendocrine tumors are considered rare and thought of as zebras. No two zebra's stripes are the same, just like no two NET Cancer patients are the same.

Two years ago, Jason was fighting for his health, fighting a disease we didn't know existed. When the diagnosis came, we still didn't know anything about it. Researching the disease on the internet was more than scary. It was hard trying to come to terms with something so medically rare.
However, now - three surgeries and lots of recovery time later, Jason's back to kicks, planning on running the Ohio State 4 Miler in Columbus, OH in October with his fiancee, Diana. He doesn't plan on letting Carcinoid win... EVER.

These shirts not only show support for Jason's fight against Carcinoid (NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!), but also helps raise funds for two amazing organizations with a mission to make sure that patients don't have to do all their own research and find their own treatment options. NCAN and The Healing NET Foundation both work to make sure that Zebras aren't pushed to the back!
