Multiple Sclerosis Walk!

My name is Justine. My mother was diagnosed with MS in September of 2013. It came on very fast and aggressive so it caught the entire family off guard. She had just gotten her Associates Degree in Accounting and was so excited to find a job! A few months after she found a job the MS hit and threw that all away. She could no longer work because it was so difficult for her to even walk from her car into work. My mom is the one who is handling the situation the best. My family and I were all freaking out more than she was. I have a 1 year old son and when she found out I was pregnant her main concern was that she wouldn't be able to babysit her only grandson, let alone hold him! She is currently taking medicine that seems to be helping slow things down! Of course she will never walk completely perfect again, but she is actually able to walk around the grocery store again. It is a huge accomplishment for her and we are so proud! My aunt's mother-in-law recently passed away and she had MS. She was in a wheelchair for at least the last 15 years of her life because of this sad disease. I have attached a photo of my mom's family. From left to right it is my mom-Rachelle, my step-dad-Jim, my son Trip and myself, and my boyfriend Willy. My sister was not able to be in the picture. It has been very hard for my entire family and it breaks my heart knowing that there are so many other families that are going through the exact same thing. If we all work together and pitch in, we just might be able to kick this disease to the curb!
