The México Curling hoodies are back!

2019 is the year Mexico entered world curling by participating in the World's Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Norway! Hurrying hard on the heels of that achievement, four Mexican women stepped up to form the first national competitive curling team to debut in the 2019 Americas Challenge in Eveleth, MN against seasoned teams from the USA and Brazil. (Nov 28-30, 2019)


We exceeded goals and expectations and won silver at the Americas Challenge! This means our team is going to Finland to participate in the 2020 World Qualification Event from January 10-19. #wqe2020


This has been a whirlwind of a start! Words cannot suffice to say how excited we are to have this opportunity! We know the competition will be tough, world-class in fact, but we've put together a team that will act professionally, in the spirit of curling, and fight to make every stone count!

We welcome your support! We are a completely self-financed team. There is no external funding outside of our hard work of making a regular living. We are the first Mexican women's curling team and we couldn't be prouder!


ABOUT US
Our individual team members' curling experience ranges from 1+ to 20+ years on the ice. It is true that we are a very new team, but we have taken our competition and the challenges very seriously. Our newest players, Angélica Pérez Anzures (3rd/vice) and Estefana Quintero Torres (2nd), live in Vancouver, Canada. Adriana Camarena Osorno (4th/skip) lives in San Francisco, California and still plays on hockey ice! (This will be her second WCF event in a year, after MD World's!) And Mónica Tompkins (Lead) lives and plays in Toronto where she rocks the weekly league.

To address the challenges of experience, time and distance among players, Team México recruited the fabulous and experienced coach Robbie Gallaugher. He has helped us with purposeful practice, and to develop our team agreements, appropriate goals, systems and processes. Despite our distance, we are moving forward as a team. He won't be able to accompany us to Finland, but he sure as hell helped get us there. So, Robbie will be present throughout.
