My So Pink Life

On August 8th, 2023 my life turned upside down. I received the call I knew was coming since my biopsy a few days earlier. “You have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and need to see a Breast Specialist right away.” As tears flood my eyes as I thought about my future with my husband and children, I quickly made appointments as I knew early treatment was key.

By August 31st, after the pathology report showed some hormonal positivity, I was scheduled for a Bilateral Mastectomy with lymph node removal. After my breasts and tumors (yes my tumor had another tumor growing on it), and lymph nodes were removed, it was determined I actually had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, which also spread to 2/4 of my lymph nodes.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer is a more aggressive form of Breast Cancer, which grows and spreads faster, and has a higher recurrence rate. We don’t have the targeted therapies available that other cancers have. More research is needed, as well as education about the importance of early detection, as this is our best way to fight this monster.

I am currently in chemo fighting this and looking to raise money to help spread awareness and donate to the TNBC foundation.

Now that I have shaved my head, I will be wearing beanies everyday. With every beanie I sell, I will donate a portion to the TNBC foundation
