National Society of Black Engineers - UCF Chapter T-Shirt Fundraiser

We will be hosting a t-shirt fundraiser in the month of February! Our goal? To sell 150 t-shirts! Our proceeds will go towards funding different technical projects for our members, our NSBE mini-conference, National Convention funding for 25 students, and more! We are encouraging everyone to buy a t-shirt and spread the word! Thank you for your support!

The National Society of Black Engineers Chapter in the city of Orlando, Florida, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. In the city of Orlando, where technology is advancing every day, we aim to ensure minority communities are advancing with it. This shirt is for bridging the gap. According to a 2014 study by the U.S. Department of Education, Black students left STEM majors at a higher rate than any other race. Our goal is to change those statistics. In the Fall of 2018, we attended a conference in Alabama where we were able to bring 30 collegiate students and 5 students from our NSBE Jr. (students K-12) Chapter. They competed in four competitions and placed 1st for 2 competitions and 3rd place for another competition. During this trip, we also received multiple internship offers. In addition to what we achieved at this conference, we have also been able to bring quality events to our members including a Java coding workshop, a calculus competition, a glider building competition, and many more events.

This spring, we aim to increase our impact. We have a set of remarkable students with big dreams, and we intend to help each one of them reach their goals. Unfortunately, without adequate funding, we will not be able to see all of our goals to fruition. So, we ask you to purchase a shirt today! As you can imagine, traveling from Orlando to Detroit and find housing for 5 days can be costly for our members. Buying a shirt or hoodie can relieve financial stress for our members.
