About this campaign

Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society has been asked to help neglected or unwanted horses from several cases lately, and we need your help to feed and vet them!

Bluebonnet is a 501c3, nonprofit horse rescue organization that works with law enforcement and horse owners to get help to needy horses. Sadly it costs a lot of money to rehabilitate these horses and find them new homes - but when you buy a t-shirt from this fundraiser, you'll help us feed horses!

You can learn more about the rescue here.

You can meet a couple of the horses you are helping herehere.

New horses come to us from law enforcement when they're found wandering loose, have been abandoned, or have been neglected or abuseHorses come to us from their owners when they can no longer keep them - and often their only other alternative is to send them to an auction where they run a high risk of heading to slaughter. We step in to keep these horses safe.

Rehabilitating a horse is expensive, though. Each horse has to recve vaccinations, an annual blood test (called a Coggins test), and dental work. All colts and stallions are gelded. These expenses can range from $200-$500, depending on what's needed.

Often the horses are emaciated, and they need 3-4 months of rehabilitation which can cost $100-$300 p month, dending on the horse and his/her needs.

They may also ed training, wch can cost $500-$800 per month (and most need 1-2 months of training).

These expenses are why we need you to buy a t-shirt. We need your help to help these horses.
