Mental Health Advocacy

We are three high school students apart from our schools HOSA chapter. HOSA stands for Health Occupation Students of America. This is a club dedicated to helping students pursue the medical field. Each year we have the opportunity to go to the HOSA State Conference and compete in events. This year me and my teammates have decided to participate in the Community Awareness event. This event requires you to pick a health related problem in your community and launch a campaign to fix it. We have chosen Teenage Mental Health as our problem. Teen Mental Illness is on the rise all across the country. With that Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens and young adults. These numbers need to go down which is why me and my team have decided to launch this fundraiser to help prevent these numbers from going up anymore.
