About this campaign

IMPORTANT this shirt will only be available to purchase for 1-WEEK. Sale will end AUGUST 11, 2019. This allows time for shirts to hopefully be delivered by the week of August 26th, which is when Isabella would like hers by. Isabella wanted a shirt to wear to support her mom and we realized others may also like one. Therefore, a shirt was designed and a way provided for people to purchase shirts to show their love and support to Lindsey and her family. Wear it when you visit or send a picture of yourself wearing one. Let's bring smiles to all their faces. Using CustomInk also allows some of the money to go towards the additional expenses the Comptons are facing with Lindsey's cancer treatment, however they will only receive money if a significant amount are bought, so that is not the main purpose. This was the easiest way to design a shirt for some family to have one and we wanted to open it up to others. Thank you!

At the end of May, Lindsey was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of oral cancer. Having no risk factors, this took everyone by surprise. On June 7th, Lindsey had part of her tongue removed (partial glossectomy). However, after her appointment with U of M Head and Neck Oncologists, it was discovered clean margins were not obtained and there was a chance the cancer was in the lymph nodes. She had a second, much more extensive surgery, on July16th. This surgery included removal of approximately half of her tongue with reconstruction using skin and muscle from her forearm, a skin graft to repair the skin that was removed from her arm, a neck dissection, tracheotomy, and placement of a feeding tube she will have for about a month. She will have many appointments at U of M over the next 5+ years, but over the next year these appointments will be pretty constant. She will also have speech therapy and physical therapy. We wanted a visual way to show our love & support to Lindsey as she travels this road to recovery, please join us!recovering in chairjpeg
