I have never really experienced the Philippines. But through Projects Abroad, I am excited to find an opportunity to intern not only in healthcare, but within a cultural environment that resonates with my own heritage. I look forward to spend the month learning about diffrent medicalcases and wok with fello volunteers amp; heahcare rofessionalsto be of servce to th community. As a bonus I will be applying the Tagalog I've learned at UW, and also learn how to speak Bisaya while I'm there! I will also be partnering up with my Medical Anthropology professor, Rachel Chapman, as part of an independent study to explore more of the applications of faith during healing in modern Filipino medicine and patient care.

All in all, I can't wait, and I hope you all will support me in any way you canbefore I make my trip!
