About this campaign

The meaning behind the 'The Purple Elephant'.

The symbolism of Alzheimer's is the color purple and an elephant. Purple is the most recognizable color out of the color wheel. It tends to be the last color that Alzheimer's patients forget. The elephant is a symbol because that is the only animal that will never forget anything. The Alzheimer's Association has a vision that humans will never deal with such disease and have a memory of an elephant.

More about this campaign
As a senior at New Underwood High School, we are required to provide a community giveback project that has correlation to our future career plans. I plan to become a graphic designer. So I decided to create these graphics and raise money through Booster.com. I wanted to put the money towards something I hold near and dear to my heart.

My father, Quinten, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was in seventh grade. This has taken a strong hit on my family. We've learned that memories are important and should never be taken for granted. This shirt has my dads name and my grandmas name, Dorothy. She passed away from this terrible disease before I was ever born. She was known to be the sweetest woman ever and it's unfortunate that I never got to meet her. With seeing how this disease has affected our family, I decided to do something about it. So please help me in raising funds for this monster of a disease.
