About this campaign

We need help with extraordinary vet expenses

We are asking for your help once again. Hunter's roomie, Cooper the Yorkie, was diagnosed with luxating patellas and IVDD in March 2017 by a veterinary neurologist after symptoms of limping, lameness and intermittent limb paralysis. He has 3 bulging disks in his neck putting pressure on his spinal column and this has put his limbs in an unnatural position causing luxating patellas. As a result, Cooper is no longer able to go on walks or play like doggies do. Just standing is difficult and painful for him. Cooper’s vet bills in March were several thousand dollars and if surgery to correct the bulging disks and the luxating patellas is needed that surgery is estimated to cost between $6000 and $8000 and has a 98% cure rate. Hunter had a recent issue vomiting blood, necessitating a trip to the ER. While nothing was definitively diagnosed, his ER bill was over $3000. He is doing well, off all medications and in a monitoring state for recurring problems. Flea has been diagnosed with FIP. To date, his vet bills have exceeded $3000 to diagnose and treat and continue to increase as we provide palliative care. Sadly, for Flea, there is no cure for FIP. At some point we will incur expenses for his passing and cremation. We are elderly, retired with a tight fixed income. We’ve maxed out all available credit and taken out a personal loan to pay off those credit cards and free up the credit cards for their additional needs. This leaves us little money to pay our mortgage, utilities, food and usual living expenses for our furry family and selves. We are asking for your help. We hope you can find in your hearts to, once again, help us buy buying a t-shirt or hoodie and/or making a donation to help us continue the care desperately needed for their quality of life.
