About this campaign

BYP100 DC organizes for the liberation of all Black people and is raising funds to support organizing for the decriminalization of sex work during Black History Month. Black and brown gender nonconforming folks, cis and trans women are disproportionately impacted by the criminalization of the sex trade and removing police interactions is just one step toward safer conditions.

We believe everyone deserves to be able to work safely free from harassment, exploitation, and abuse. The effort to decriminalize sex work in DC aims to reduce police interactions between cops and people in the sex trade. Cops continue to harm people in the sex trade and we want it to stop now. Imagine the ways we could improve material conditions for marginalized folks if the money spent policing the sex trade was used for housing, food, transportation, education, and more.
