About this campaign

"I will be traveling with a team to two of our global partners - Nepal and India. During the Nepal portion of the trip we will be working with girls from local villages who are at-risk of being trafficked by providing leadership/empowerment skills, encouraging the girls to continue with their education and updating girls who are already part of the NoChild sponsorship program (Nochild.org). We will also have the opportunity to visit and encourage the staff of our partner in Nepal. Then we will travel to India where the team will be connecting with the children of the Grace Children's Home (GCH), updating the children’s sponsorship information and photos, and be an encouragement to the CEM staff."

Hello family and friends,
In 2010, I was sitting at a Kensington service and I heard about human trafficking for the first time. A video clip from an anti-trafficking organization called A21 played, and as it finished I remember looking around me and thinking “What in the world is going on and am I the only who just saw that?” That day changed the way I see the injustices of this world and for 8 years now, I have been praying about and trying to figure out my part in helping to stop human-trafficking. I completely believe that God placed this burden in my heart along with a desire to make a difference, but I could never figure out what to do or where to start.
For 8 years, I have been researching about anti-human trafficking organizations in the state of Michigan. I have asked around the church and have had countless conversations as I tried to learn all that I can about this movement, knowing that I am meant to be a part of it. Still, I didn’t see an opportunity for me to directly have a role. Until now.
Recently, through a series of crazy events (that I would love to tell you about if you ever want to grab coffee!) I was presented with an opportunity to travel to Nepal and India to work with victims of human trafficking! I can hardly believe it and I could not be more excited. The one caveat: the trip is this coming October 24 – November 6, less than two months away! Initially that made me nervous and I even doubted whether I was meant to go, but after much prayer, I am convinced that God himself opened this door for me and I am committed to doing whatever it takes for me to be a part of this work.
Did you know that the trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world? Or that up to 40,000 girls are trafficked each year from Nepal to India to work in brothels throughout the middle east? Thinking about that makes me feel literally sick to my stomach. I know that God put this fire inside me so that I would get involved.
I will be traveling with others from Kensington Church as we work with two of their global partners: Ramesh Sakota from Nepal and Jaya Sankar from India. These leaders are transforming their communities by training local pastors, planting churches, feeding the hungry, and caring for the orphans. These leaders are also reaching out to the at-risk women and children who are in danger of human trafficking and they currently have a team on the ground rescuing women and children from human trafficking! We will be meeting with at-risk girls in their villages in Nepal to enroll them in Kensington’s child sponsorship program. This will afford them the ability to attend school and keep them off the streets. We will then travel to India where we will update the existing child sponsorship profiles as well as enroll new children into the program. Of course, we will also spend plenty of time getting to know them, encouraging them, sharing the love of God and praying for them.
So, I am writing to you now to see if you would consider helping me get there. I can use three things specifically.
Number one, PRAYERS. For me and the team: pray that we would do whatever God calls us to do in the best way that we can. Prayers for those that we will encounter. And prayers for our families that we are leaving behind who have been so supportive and encouraging.
Number two, FINANCES. It costs a whopping $4,300. I have to raise that within the next month in order to be a part of this amazing opportunity of being the hands and feet of Jesus. Raising financial support is sometimes difficult, as you can imagine, but if it is the Lord’s will that I make this trip, then He will provide.
Number three, SPONSORSHIP. If you would like to sponsor a child from NoChild sponsorship, please visit Nochild.org for more information. I will be meeting some of the girls and children face to face and will get to see firsthand the impact of your sponsorship.
Thank you in advance for however you will be able to support me in this adventure. I feel so privileged to be able to go on this trip and I can hardly wait to share stories with you when I get back!
 Love, Suzi Duncan
