DowlingStrong55 Endowed Scholarship Program 2023

Thank you for joining the DowlingStrong55 virtual fundraiser with all proceeds going directly towards the DowlingStrong55 Endowed Scholarship. Tom, Kevin and Erik Dowling left an indelible mark on us all and with this fundraiser we are able to honor them and make sure their memory lives on. All three exemplified strength, determination and courage throughout their lives. Tom was a firefighter for over thirty years and was always ready to help anyone in need. Kevin loved playing football and embodied the spirit of what it meant to be a Golden Knight. As a coach he shared his love of the game with young athletes and continuously modeled St. Francis values. Erik also loved playing football and applied the values he learned on the football field and at St. Francis to work his way through paramedic school and pursue a career as a firefighter. When Tom was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma and both brothers were diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer (Sarcoma), they fought with the same strength and courage they had grown up with. After long, hard-fought battles, with years of chemo and radiation, Tom was able to rest in 2008, Kevin in 2017, and Erik in 2018. In their memory, The DowlingStrong55 Endowed Scholarship was established by family, friends, and the SF community to honor Tom, Kevin and Erik for embodying true Golden Knight values. Their strength, determination, and courage lives on through this scholarship program to help and support future St. Francis generations. It is our goal to keep this tradition going strong for years to come, and present a DowlingStrong55 Scholarship Award to a St. Francis Student and their family at the start of every school year as a reminder to live out the Golden Knight values to the fullest.
