About this campaign

Our second year is approaching fast! (Click the link to see what we did in our first year! https://www.colemanprep.org) We have more space, more grade levels, more students, more programming, and now we need more support! In this upcoming school year, we are implementing additional programming to provide stronger, deeper, and broader opportunities for our students. We are adding grades 3rd through 6th, and we've moved to a larger facility. These changes require us to purchase more resources, hire more staff, and support our programs.

Coleman Preparatory Academy is the first school of its kind in Louisville, KY; a black founded and led private school that serves students aged 3 years old through 6th grade in the upcoming school year, and will expand to 12th grade by 2024-2025. We are a new branch of educational excellence for underserved youth. Coleman Prep provides a place and space for quality education, education equity, an unmatched HBCU vibe, and a focus on parent engagement.

We are trailblazers.

As a private school, the funding we receive is from parent-paid tuition, fundraising and donations. Our tuition is lower than other private schools in the city in order to accommodate more families in our community, however this amount is still out of reach for some families. We understand that quality education has been inaccessible for too long, and are changing that narrative. We fundraise, write grants, and host events so that we're able to offer more to our students, while keeping our tuition low.

Investing in our future is necessary.
