September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and our very own Carderock Cub starts brain cancer treatment this week.

Missing kindergarten for hospital visits and in-patient admissions is the last thing Cameron wanted to be doing at her new school.

CSES is privileged to have one amazingly strong warrior, Cameron Corno, who just celebrated her 6th birthday. In March of 2020, at only 18 months old, Cameron was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor (ependymoma). Cameron's brain cancer had recurrences in August 2023 and May 2024. Most recently in June she had her 6th and 7th brain surgeries and completed radiation (for the 3rd time) in July. Cameron continues her courageous battle with resilience and a smile - even with 4.5 years of treatment she remains her cheerful, sweet self. The next step for our warrior girl is to start Chemo/CAR-T cell immunotherapy trial on September 16th - just 3 weeks into kindergarten at Carderock Springs. The incredible loving and supportive community that surrounds the Corno family is known as "Cam's Crew" and rocks Cameron's favorite color in her honor - NEON PINK, or as we know it "Camstrong pink". We would love for you to join in to support our girl, but don't delay - the fundraiser only runs for 2 weeks from 9/13-9/27!

All funds raised will go to The Lilabean Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research - in Cameron's honor, which go to her brain tumor type (ependymoma) and have already made a direct impact on her treatment/trial options!
