Camp Sunshine at Sebago Lake

Open all year so families can come when their child is better able to enjoy the full range of activities, Camp Sunshine embraces the entire family. The family is free to reconnect with each other. Children can play in a safe environment, everyone sits around the dinner table at the same time-like a family. Since 1984 Camp Sunshine continues to be the only place in the country that offers their unique programming to families of children with life threatening illnesses for free. Families from all over the United States and abroad come and meet others going through the same thing. Diseases like Lupus, Sickle Cell and Fanconi Anemia, among others, bring families to Camp. At Camp they gettogether for fun, sharing and learning. Camp Sunshine staff consists almost entirely of volunteers who donate their time. Over 2,500 dedicated volunteers participate in the program every year. Many volunteers return year after year. Approximately 70,000 hours are volunteered each year saving Camp several thousand dollars, enough to bring hundreds of families up to Camp. This is the 30th year of Camp Sunshine serving families of children with life threatening. Please support them by buying a T-shirt and wear it proudly.
