The Path is Raising Money to Bring Don Alejandro, Mayan Elder, to New Mexico

In Flordemayo's own words is her story of how she met Don Alejandro...

After my mom, died in the late sixties I was left with the desire of a teacher.I remember planting my prayers asking for a male teacher, not only a teacher but someone who would help me with the teachings of my ancestors. In my prayers, I wanted to hear the Mayan language, the prayers, and also the ceremony.It was a long time waiting. I kept steady at my prayers just wondering about my teacher and day dreaming of who or what his name would be.It was not long after I came to New Mexico in the early nineties that I started exploring and putting the word out to the universe. I met many different Elders throughout the Americas and continued the prayer to meet my teacher.There was a lady by the name of Justine in Santa Fe whom I had done some healing and it was through her that I received informationthat a Mayan Elder was coming to New Mexico. He was looking for someone to help him translate so I set myself forth and decided to call and make myself available.Our meeting place was at the corner of 528 and Southern Boulevard in Rio Rancho NM.We were meeting at the parking lot of Smiths Grocery Store and I remember walking to meet him in this brown van and from the side came an Elder. Don Alejandrowas very short and very bronzed in traditional clothing. I had gathered some of my favorite stones and wrapped them in a deer hide and said to him,as he extended his hands to greet me, "Beloved Elder, I have been waiting for you. My heart has been empty since my mom died and I been praying for a traditionalteacher from home."Don Alejandro looked into my eyes and said, "Child when were you born?" I responded and looked at him as he closed his eyes and I can feel the gears movingand he started to see my cosmic chart. He said, "Child you are 7 years late". I smiled at him and with tears in my eyes I said I have been praying and waiting. I hadan overwhelming feeling that I had found my teacher. I started to pray and cry all at once.Don Alejandro said, "Can you come and help me? I am traveling through the Pueblos and inviting indigenous Elders for a Gathering in the umbilicus of the Earth inGuatemala, Central America.And so my journey started at that moment. I called my husband and said, "Marshall, I just met my teacher and I will be traveling into the Pueblos, I will call you." He said, "Yes, don't forget to call."With Marshall's Blessings, I got in to the brown van and my life journey with my teacher started.
