Arthrogryposis Awareness Day 2017

We're doing our yearly t-shirt sale to raise money for Arthrogryposis Awareness! We discovered that Edison had a condition called Arthrogryposis when the twins were 18 weeks in utero. Arthrogryposis occurs when a person is born with curved, stiff joints. 1 in 3,000 babies are born with Arthrogryposis, but there are very few doctors that have even heard of the condition. We often find ourselves spelling each letter out for the doctor and/or nurse. In fact, there are many parents who were/are still recommended to abort their child in cases of Arthrogryposis.

For those of you who know Edison, can attest what a shame it would be not to have him in your lives. He is such a special ray of sunshine. As a family, we feel so lucky to have been so blessed. His therapists and doctors have made amazing strides in making Edison more mobile and independent. And he has risen to every challenge he's faced, with more bravery and determination than most.

We travel at the end of the month to Las Vegas for the Annual Arthrogryposis Conference. The kids had SO much fun last year, meeting so many people and families like us, that we're taking ALL FIVE of the kiddos again. (That's SEVEN airline tickets and at least 3 nights in a hotel!) But we're confident we can raise the money to make this happen! We can't wait to learn more therapy techniques, surgical options, and daily tips!
