On December 15, 2021, Alec would be turning 27 years old. Alec had recently turned 26 before he died on January 4, 2021. To honor and remember Alec, we are selling shirts in his memory. All proceeds from the shirt orders will go to Chaplin Steve Jensen's organization, The Honolulu Navy League, which supports the Wounded Warriors in Hawaii. Chaps was an amazing friend and support for Alec. Chaps continues to selflessly support service members all over the world. We are forever grateful for his service and dedication to our family and friends.
Alec Beauseigneur-Jimenez was born on December 15, 1994, in Englewood Colorado. Alec was the oldest of six brothers: Diego (23), Raphael (16), Zachary (15), Leonardo (14), Joaquin (10), & Cruz (10). Alec's mother is Katie Beauseigneur, and his father is Carlos Jimenez (Misty Jimenez Stepmom).
Alec grew-up in Florida with his mother and brothers, Diego and Zach. Alec visited his father, Misty, and brothers in Colorado often. Alec has a lot of extended family members to which he was very close with. Alec's family was an integral and import part of his life.
Growing up, Alec always knew he was going to join the military. After graduating high school, Alec enlisted in the United States Marine Corp as an infantry mortarman on October 21, 2014. In early 2015, Alec was stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (Kaneohe Bay). On May 28, 2015, Alec was seriously injured when a mortar round went off prematurely. The accident left Alec with a severely injured right hand, with partial amputations of all fingers. The injury caused a traumatic brain injury (TBI), that would later manifest into post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE).
While in Hawaii, Alec was transferred to the Wounded Warrior Battalion (WWB) where he would spend his time recovering from his injuries, undergoing subsequent surgeries, and performing physical therapy. In mid March 2016, Alec would transfer to San Diego, CA where he would be stationed at Balboa Naval Medical Center, in the WWB.
During Alec's time spent recovering in the Wounded Warrior Battalion, he endured many hardships related to his injuries. knowing he would no longer be able to serve in the Marine Corps while learning how to manage tasks with his hand and dealing with his mental health, brought some dark days for Alec.
During the dark days, Chaplain Jensen served as a staple of positivity and hope for Alec and his recovery. Through Chaps and his foundation, Alec was able to maintain connections and go on trips with people who also experienced service-connected injuries. Alec maintained a close relationship with Chaps even after his retirement from the military. Chaps was a very important person in Alec’s life, a person who helped Alec through very difficult times. Alec was very appreciative and grateful for the relationship he had developed with Chaps.
Through all the hardships Alec endured in the later part of his life, he continued to be a shining light and inspiration to all his family and friends. His infectious smile and larger than life personality made him a person everyone wanted to be around. Alec lived life to the fullest and never hesitated. He was an inspiration to all of us and continues to be a role model for many. The impact Alec made on this world will be felt for a lifetime and the memories will never be forgotten.
