Abby Vermeys Hoffmeyer was diagnosed with Invasive Medullary Ductal Carcinoma (Stage 2) Triple Negative Breast Cancer. (Rate of cancer mutation is 99%) Abby is the wife of Ricky Hoffmeyer and mother of Hayden and Avery Hoffmeyer (18 years old & 15 years old) and daughter of Tami Vos (Don Vos) & Kevin Vermeys (Shawnya Vermeys).

Abby has been traveling to and from Mason City Cancer Center for treatments. She just finished her first 4 rounds of chemotherapy that included Adrimycin + Cytoxan + Neulasta (every 2 weeks) Abby is getting ready to begin her next 4 rounds of Chemotherapy that will include Carboplatin + Taxol + Neulasta (every 3 weeks) Keytruda-immunotherapy is done every 6 weeks and will continue 6 months after 2nd round. After Abby’s 2nd round they will repeat scans and discuss further surgery.
