The PFD Foundation, previously named Citizens Committee for Fire Prevention established in 1952, changed to the PFD Foundation in 2016 and is the official not-for-profit of the Philadelphia Fire Department (PFD). Our mission is to promote fire and life safety education and help the PFD better protect Philadelphia. The PFD Foundation funds programs that advance the PFD’s goals, which include maintaining operational excellence, reaching out to the community with an array of fire and life safety programs, and ensuring that our firefighters and EMS personnel have the best available training and equipment. The PFD Foundation is: The only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of the PFD Foundation and; The PFD Foundation does not solicit by telephone or use telemarketers.
