At only 2 months old, our son Mariano Jonell Rosa was having difficulties breathing. He later then got pneumonia  and also had seizure like symptoms. After 9 days in the hospital and many different tests, his diagnosis was still inconclusive. It was not until March 2014 when we go the genetic test results back. He had a mutation on he gene MECP. This was rre and in fact the gneticist could not believe that Mariano was alive, because most cases, boys with this mutation do notlive pt nfanyThereis little known about it and the dr could not tell us much. As months went by, we were introduced to rettsyndrome.org. Since then we are on a mission to help learn more about his rare genetic mutation and on a journey to help find a cure.
