About this campaign

2q23.1 MDS stands for 2q23.1 MicroDeletion (as well as MicroDuplication/MicroDisruption) Syndrome. Children affected by this rare condition often face lifelong challenges in learning, movement (both fine and gross motor skills), behavior, and speech. They also tend to have issues with getting enough restorative sleep, effective feeding and/or digestion, and appropriate patterns in growth and development. On February 23rd (2/23) of each year we ask our friends and families to wear blue (the color for Rare conditions) to raise awareness. Increased awareness means increased research. This year we had a shirt designed, a “2q Tee”, to help us continue to bring attention to this condition. Purchasing a shirt will help us raise funds to two hospitals currently interested in 2q, Baylor Hospital in Texas and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Please wear “Blue for 2q” on February 23rd.

We are raising awareness to help educate and funds for the proper testing our Kids need.
