Zander's t-shirts

Zander is a 9 year old boy, who in December 2012 was diagnosed with Idiopathic Dialated Cardiomyopathy after he went into ventricular tachycardia- a heart beat of 210 BPM which is higher then a healthy man running a marathon. This means his heart was enlarged and was no longer functioning properly. We went home with medication and had to buy a AED- defibulator to keep Zander safe. By February 2013, Zander had pain in his heart so back to Children's Hospital Colorado in Denver. He now needed a pacemaker/defibulator placed, but it was only in for a few hours and began to cause his heart to fail so it was removed, he was placed on a Berlin Heart Machine to keep him alive while he waited for a new heart. It took 5 weeks and he got a heart transplant. In June he had his first rejection which took 5 rounds of plasmapheresis- blood filtering, 5 weeks of radiation, and steroids to stop rejection of his new heart. In November he had another rejection which was treated with 8 rounds of high dose steroids. He had a total of 7 heart catherizations in the one year. We drive back and forth to Wichita KS for his clinic appointments and to Denver CO to get his new heart checked with heart caths. His antirejection medicines are very expensive and he takes medicine 14 times a day which is a full time job in it self.
