Cookies 4 Jane

"This photo was taken on Sep 20th, 2014, right before ‘The Walk to End Alzheimer's’ event at Gallery Park in Glenview, IL. The woman in the wheel chair is my grandmother Jane. In 2009 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. My family has slowly watched her ability to do simple everyday tasks disappear. She has lost her ability to walk, feed herself and now requires 24/7 care. She grasps for words in an attempt to make a complete sentence; most of which sound garbled. However, there are three phrases that are always clear, “Thank you”, ”I love you”, and the most important, “COOKIES!” This disease has had a huge impact on my family physically, emotionally, and financially. Our photo consists of 3 of Jane’s daughters, 8 of her grandchildren, and her two caregivers, all walking to support her and her love of cookies, the one thing she always remembers. Six days before the walk, my mother and I decided t-shirts would be a great way to show our support and unity for someone very dear to us. We wanted to let people there know that we were walking not just to support the disease, but also to support the woman who has always given everything for her family. After spending hours on the design, no one would do the screen-printing on such a short notice… until I discovered Custom Ink. The man who helped me was positive and very helpful. I added on more shirts and he was happy to accommodate us. He also said our shirts would arrive a day earlier then we expected, which was great. They cleaned up our original design, which was really impressive. When the shirts arrive, they where better than we had anticipated. The fabric was good quality and the printing was neat and strong. No one wanted to take the shirts off after the event. We were all so proud and everyone who saw them were impressed. I can say I have never been happier with a t-shirt company and would not hesitate to reorder or recommend them to others. Thank you for all your help and great service!
